Full description

Join a day trip from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Teide National Park, home to Mt. Teide, Spain’s tallest peak at 12,198 feet (3,718 meters). Following pickup from your hotel, head to the park, and explore its lunar landscapes. Take a cable car to the peak and enjoy time at leisure to soak up the views.

After getting picked up in the selected location, visit the largest national park in the Canary Islands and experience a volcanic landscape of unrivaled beauty with your Mount Teide cable car ticket. Forget the car and contribute to a sustainable Teide. By choosing group transport, beat overcrowding in the vehicle parking zones inside the national park which, as a conservation measure, are small and unsuitable for expansion. From the base station, board the cable car for the 8-minute ride up to the highest peak in Spain. The cable car’s upper station, at 3,555 meters, is the point of departure for 3 interesting trails for hiking enthusiasts. There are paths to Pico Viejo Lookout and La Fortaleza Lookout, where you’ll have spectacular views of the north and south of the island. The Telesforo Bravo path leads to the highest point of the volcano, at an altitude of 3,718 meters. To visit the peak you must apply for a permit in advance.

Everything was as described in the activity page. The guide was very friendly and funny and told us many unknown facts about Teide and Tenerife. The views are fascinating, we were lucky enough to have a sunny and clear sky that day, but better watch out the weather forecast before scheduling the trip.

Although the cable car was closed due to bad weather, it was a great trip to Teide National Park. Very committed guide and lots of information about the volcanoes and the island. Negative were too many coffee/toilet breaks and too little hike (max 20 min) and unfortunately the very long return trip to the various hotels. Here only 2 collection points with optional bookable transport would be much better

Great trip in a beautiful and magical landscape. The guide, Benjamin, was incredibly skilled. He was both pleasant, funny and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about both the history of Tenerife, but also about the nature there. Lots of interesting things about the different volcanoes and about the pine forest up there. Several small stops were included along the way where we could walk around the area a bit. We even got to see a short and informative film about Teide at one of the stops. The driver on the bus, Carmelo, was absolutely outstanding! The cable car was unfortunately closed on this day. But Carmelo drove us safely further into the national park and maneuvered his way through the narrow and winding roads. On the way down from the mountain, we stopped at a local shop where we were served samples of local liqueurs and various jams. Really a trip I can recommend! A big plus was that they drove me almost all the way back to the hotel, even though it was off their route.
