Discover the highlights of Santa Cruz de La Palma and explore the effects of La Palma's volcanic activities on this day trip from Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Have lunch at a local restaurant and visit the Caldera de Taburiente National park.

Meet your guide at the tour partner's office in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and board the ferry. Relax and enjoy the azure Mediterranean sea on the ride to the port of Santa Cruz de La Palma. Once on land, listen as your guide explains the tour route.

Hop aboard the comfortable and air-conditioned bus and begin your tour of Santa Cruz de La Palma. See a reproduction of Christopher Columbus' Santa María ship at the 'Ship of the Virgin.' Hear about La Palma's connection to this historical ship.

Continue to admire views of the 17th-century Castle of Santa Catalina which was an important location on the route to the Americas. View some traditional houses with stunning Canary-style balconies.

Relax on the drive to the 'Mirador de la Concepción' viewpoint. Stop to enjoy views of the island and crater from the highest part of the Caldereta volcano. Notice how the vegetation changes on the island on the drive towards the Time Tunnel.

Observe how the Cumbre Vieja volcano has affected the local area. Make your way to the exclusion zone of the Tacande neighborhood where you will catch your first glimpse of the volcano. See the youngest lava flows in Spain in Tazacorte.

Sit down at a restaurant to a delicious lunch of salad, bread, fish, potatoes, and cheese. After lunch, head out to see lava-formed coastal cliffs. Finally, go to the Tajuya viewpoint to witness the newest volcano in the Canary islands and snap some breathtaking pictures.

Return to the port in the afternoon and take the ferry back to your starting point in Tenerife.

The trip was a wonderful experience for me. I want to highlight high professionalism and care of the agency which runs this tour. I communicated with them by email and they were very helpful. Finally I had an emergency that I was very late arriving at the meeting spot and the guide Basso was very good in helping me to still get on the ferry on time! Really great customer care. Thank you. The ferry takes just over 2 hrs to reach La Palma. Every stop was very interesting and my only wish was that we could stay longer. The capital is a charming old town; lots of pretty houses, shops and cafes. Then we stopped at a couple of nice view points and then proceeded to the area affected by the volcano eruption. It was scary and fascinating to see the fresh lava field and the guide Rossi told us many vivid stories. We spent the afternoon in the sunniest corner of La Palma - there is a nice black sand beach and we had an awesome lunch! It was a full and interesting day!

Excellent choice of things to see in one day! Our tour guide Rosie, was excellent and knowledgeable! She was happy to interact with all of us and answered all questions! The bus driver, Angel, has been perfect with smooth skills! I would highly recommend it as one-day day trip to see the volcano and a few other spots!

Great approach to the Tajogaite volcano. The guide accompanied by her bus driver took us to great viewpoints to observe the volcano and its devastating lava flows! The panoramas are impressive. Passage to La Laguna to observe a limit of lava flow and the infrastructures which still try to remain upright, although burnt and uninhabitable. I particularly enjoyed this little stop, afterwards I went to Google Street to see the pre-eruption difference, it is shocking and disastrous. For the meal, we went to a restaurant in Puerto, it was very good and plentiful. However it was a bit long (1h15-1h30), I would have preferred to use some of this time to see something else. The city of Puerto is magnificent, between ocean and huge cliffs. Go to La Palma, discover this magnificent island, you will not regret it! Attention to those who are seasick, the ferry pitches a lot if the sea decides to bore you.
