The Scala dei Turchi has a wavy and irregular shape, with lines that are not rough but sweet and roundish. The name comes from the past raids of Saracens pirates, named conventionally by locals as “Turchi" (Turkish), these pirates in fact found this site as a safer landing place for their ships, saving them from the beating of the hammering African winds, compared to the rest of the southern coastline.

The temples are not only the ultimate for classical philologists, but absolutely impressive for any lover of antiquity. You should not underestimate the distances that have to be covered between the temples - and at the end, the kilometers back to the parking lot. The e-scooter tour is therefore a real insider tip: While most tourists struggle for many kilometers (!) uphill and downhill (!!!), with the scooter you are comfortably in the fast lane as an elite group and have more time for the actual sights. Without the scooter we would definitely not have seen all the temples, but would have turned back halfway. The e-scooter tour is not exactly cheap, but a real experience of first-class tourism and absolutely worth the money! PS: And my wife, who I had to persuade to go on the scooter tour, was absolutely thrilled afterwards!

I had booked a guided tour at sunset but unfortunately it was cancelled. So I replaced it with this one by choosing a time that allowed me to see the Valley of the Temples at sunset and with lighting and honestly, I was not disappointed. The audio guide is easy to use and very explanatory. The day before, you receive the instructions as well as the entrance ticket. You load the application and enter a code. Remember to take headphones for your phone, it's more comfortable. Great experience

Claudio was an outstanding guide! My husband and I had a blast riding the scooters from sight to sight, and Claudio was very patient with my learning curve -what a fun way to see all the sights without as much walking. Claudio was extremely knowledgable, and made the tour very interesting, offering to take photos for us at key points. His English was also excellent, which we appreciated! This tour is worth the splurge!
