Full description

After a pre-sunrise departure from Tel Aviv or Jerusalem, drive through the rolling hills of the Judean desert. At 5:30 AM, you’ll arrive at Masada, a set of mountaintop fortifications that date back to the 1st century BCE. Hike to peak to watch the sunrise from the summit, painting the surrounding valleys in rich hues. Continue to the En Gedi Nature Reserve, which covers an astounding 3,500 acres. A massive oasis in the desert, it includes vast streams and rivers that spill out from impressive waterfalls. Amble through the mountainous terrain, marvelling at the lush greenery in the heart of the desert. To cap things off, head to the Dead Sea, where you’ll have 1.5 hours to relax. Coat yourself in its iconic black mud, famed for its restorative qualities, and float in the highly saline water. After your time at the lowest point on earth, you’ll head back to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

The tour in general is very good. The excellent guide. Accommodation in Bedouin camp very well. Stay in Wadi Musa better than ever. I do have some suggestions: Improve the transportation system from Tel Aviv. Nobody knows how to give you information when you are waiting for the bus. On the way back from Jordan they put us all on a single bus (Tel Aviv and Jerusalem), you arrive in Tel Aviva at 1 am by going through Jerusalem first. This was not the case on the way, since Tel Aviv we were on a separate bus from those coming from Jerusalem.

Nice excursion but still very physical! For someone overweight like me it's not easy and the descent is even worse with its 1000 steps to descend…once at the top, the show is magnificent especially if the weather is good… On the other hand, I find it a shame to be with a driver rather than a guide because no explanation is given to us or even if we can have lunch, drink or eat…niet! Just a guide… In the morning, when you buy your ticket, you have to wait in the cold for everyone to pay one by one. It would be more efficient to give cash (31 ILS) to the driver to pay for everyone…it would avoid unnecessary queuing…

The hike up to Masada was a bit trickier than expected but definitely worth it for the view of the sunset at the top, Dead Sea was awesome wish we’d had at least another hour there though, Ein Gedi was so full with tourists and we only had one hour there so didn’t see the point
