Full description
After being collected from your centrally-located accommodation in Tbilisi, you will travel to an extremely different region of Georgia, Javakheti. This area is located in the southern part of the country, and sits close to the Armenian border. You will begin by experiencing the Dashbashi Canyon, which is several kilometers away from the town of Tsalka. The Dashbashi Canyon is one of the most beautiful (but not so famous) natural landmarks in the country. The height of the canyon is 1,100-1,500 meters, with a length of 8 kilometers. There's now a diamond in the sky in the Dashbashi canyon. The bridge of glass hanging above Dashbashi Canyon could inspire you to have a drink and enjoy the view at the gigantic diamond multi-level bar at its center or ride across on a bicycle attached to a zip line. Following this, you will visit the Phoka Village, which sits on the shoreline of Paravani Lake at an altitude of 2,080 meters. This lake is the largest in the country, and in this village you will visit the Phoka St. Nino Convent. This monastery is named after St. Nino, who entered the country through this region and arrived in the town of Mtskheta (which was then the capital of Georgia). It is allegedly here that he preached gospel, converting Georgians from paganism to Christianity in the 4th century. You will then have time for lunch at the Phoka St. Nino Convent. Here you will be able to taste delicious Georgian dishes cooked from organic products by sisters in a nearby nunnery. Following lunch, you will move on to the Saghamo Lake, whose name literally translates to "evening". Located close to this lake is the Sagamo Village. The lake is of tectonic origin, completely freezing over in winter time. Drive back to Tbilisi.

Had a great tour of the canyon and the lakes. My guide was very personable and fun. The views were beautiful, and food was also tasty. I would definitely recommend the tour to other travellers, and I'm already dreaming of my next trip to Georgia.
