Georgia is one of oldest countries to produce wine (8,000 year history of continuous wine making tradition, which is evidenced by numerous archaeological discoveries). Georgians have shared the love for the grape and have remained loyal to it throughout history to today. The traditional Georgian method of making wine in Qvevri is listed as a cultural heritage by UNESCO.

In the morning, your driver and guide will pick you up from your accommodation, from there you'll start your journey to the eastern part of Georgia, Kakheti wine country. This region is the main wine producer of the country, and you will travel there by a comfortable car complete with air-conditioning. Driving two hours through the Gombori pass, you will reach the Alazani valley where you will visit wine factories, wine museums and one of the oldest wine cellars, which belongs to a local family. Here you will have the opportunity to sample Georgian red and white wines, before your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. At the conclusion of your tour, you will be dropped off to your Tbilisi accommodation.
