The tour guide Alex is nice and have told us lots of information. The coach's seats are in light blue fabric so can see the dirt and the floor is not clean enough as someone found a bottle of water on the floor but Alex didn't see it. Alex may seek advice from other tour guides of how to manage the aircon of not to occur the frogs on all windows. It needs to aware the air circulation as quite a few people cough in the coach. Meanwhile I can smell someone's bad body smell. Not sure a family group moved to sit at the back is because of this reason. Also, some people changed their seats and made some people feel uncomfortable. Alex should pay more attention to these issues in future.
We had a fabulous day, despite the rain and because we went in May, the boat wasn't full and we had plenty of space to move around and use the facilities. The staff went out of their way to help and inform us. We heard a lot about the history of the area and the Sarah Island tour was really informative. Lunch, a drink and coffee was great on the top deck with window seats.
We opted for the self tour as we enjoy going at our own pace. They have guides in certain areas that provide short talks throughout the day. We just happen to be at one of the ruins when a talk commenced and it was really great! If you like history, then it’s a great day and must see.
