Begin the 5-hour tour with a drive to Savoca, a small village where you’ll take a guided walk through the old town. Visit places where The Godfather movie was filmed. See the Bar Vitelli where Michael Corleone met the father of his future wife Apollonia, and St. Lucy’s Church, where they were married. Learn about the history of the Sicilian Mafia and how it spread throughout Italy. Hear about the Mafia clan wars for control of the territory. The second stop is Forza D'Agro, another small village where the movie was filmed. After a walking tour stop for lunch in a charming elegant restaurant. Nice, quite relaxed 5 h journey, listening stories about mafia`s history and visiting villages were Godfather movie was filmed. Both villages offer scenes from movie creating feeling these were authentic places of real mafia`s godfather family story. We were only three couples together with or guide Valerio, so we could enjoy relaxed communication atmosphere during lunch discussing our travel impressions and exchanging information on our countries.

This tour was so fun! Antonio Chirco was hands down the best tour guide we have ever had!! He went out of his way to take us to different places he thought we would love. He is incredibly knowledgeable about history and architecture! He made this day amazing!! The roads are very windy and Antonio stoped at a pharmacy so we could get motion sickness medication. Lunch was delicious!

We did this tour on Wednesday 18, August 2021 under the guidance of Valeria. I would highly recommend it for anybody interested in the Gofather movie and the Mafia. We could not have found anyone more knowledgeable or engaging as Valeria. He ensured we had a truly wonderful experience.
