It was a great tour! I went with my mother and we both had an amazing time. Lorena our guide was very friendly and shared so many interesting things about the region, the Etna park and of course the stunning volcano! We also got to see many beautiful landscapes and different nearby towns along the way. Once at Refuggio Sapienza, we decided to take the cable car up to see the Etna from closer and it was very easy to meet again with Lorena and the rest of the group afterwards. We also loved the tasting! It was of diverse products from the region, which were not only delicious but also warming after the snow peak cold. We also enjoyed getting to see the cave and Alcantara River, particularly when we entered the cave Lorena explained about how these kind of caves got formed from lava flows. And at the end of such a journey it was super convenient to be left at the door of the hotel! I would totally recommend the tour, great value for money. ¡Gracias, Lorena!

Full description

Depart from Taormina and head to the Rifugio Sapienza on Mount Etna. Learn the history of the volcano and visit the sites of its last eruptions. Choose to trek along the nature paths of the Parco dell’Etna or take the cable car to an altitude of 2,504 meters and continue by 4WD minibus to the Torre del Filosofo. Get stunning views of the scenery stretching down to the sea and admire the craters and old lava flows that characterize the landscape. Explore a lava cave with all the proper equipment. Continue down the mountain and stop at a local producer for a delicious sampling of typical delicacies, such as honey and oil. Discover the different corners of the Alcantara River. Walk down small paths, past cultivated fields, and see the natural pools and waterfalls and continue to get up close to different basalt and unexpected lava formations.
