Enjoy an authentic Sicilian experience. Visit an estate and orange plantation, where you will immerse yourself in local culinary traditions, learn to prepare tasty arancini, and sample some great local wine and delicacies.
What to Expect
Visit a countryside estate and orange plantation in the heart of the Mount Etna region, where you will learn the secrets of the traditional local street food, arancini. These are stuffed rice balls coated with breadcrumbs and fried. An expert chef will show you how to make them and explain their history in Sicilian culture. You will prepare some with the assistance of your chef, so you can replicate the recipe once you are back home to surprise your friends and family!
After the informal and fun cooking lesson, you will be offered a wine tasting of the region's famous wines. The location will be an ancient Palmento, a place used for the production of wine until the late 1800s. The tasting will be combined with local delicacies such as provola cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, pate and jams on crostini bread, brolo salami, cunzatu bread, and of course your arancini. Finally, conclude your Sicilian experience with a guided visit to the orange plantation, where you will have a chance to sample the tastiest oranges in the world directly from the tree.
