The turquoise blue water of the river is crystal clear that you can see the riverbed from above. The next stop is Swallow Grotto. The time I travelled was during outbreak of Coronavirus. Even though there were only 2 persons left for the tour, the tour still operated. This is very impressive. Overall I like the scenary of Taroko very much. Even though we had 15 minutes at Shakadang trail, but we got enough time for other stops.

I really enjoyed my day but I did not expect the journey involved. It was not a high speed train which we had in the morning and the train too 3 hours and coming back was faster but still 2.5 hours so a long day on trains. The gorge itself was fairly amazing and the lunch was really good. The guide we nice.

Not having had the tour confirmed ... company not at fault as I booked the day before I left and they ask for min 48hrs notice. My hotel, The Shangri-La were superb in ensuring it was all sorted when I told them on my arrival as it was the next day! The price paid was same as other tour company's but I think this company did a very good job ... pick up from hotel, the driver took us to the airport, sorted all our tickets and took us right up to departures. Flight out to Taroko was 40 mins and arrived in Haulien and had the guide waiting for us. A very luxurious and comfortable coach. The whole trip was breathtakingly beautiful through the gorge and our guide was superb with her knowledge. Lunch when told was 5*, I was sceptical but indeed it was! Silks Place put on an amazing lunch and so much food. The only thing is we probably would have liked about an hour or so for lunch to be a bit more relaxed. The group I was with were amazing, just 10 of us. All in all a splendid trip.
