This full-day tour of the mighty Danube is ideal for people who want to combine history with nature and would like to enjoy some of the most beautiful countrysides in Hungary. You will see historic monuments and art memorials while your guide provides a lively narrative of Hungarian life. You will visit the 750-year-old Royal Residence at Visegrád where you will learn about life in the Middle Ages while enjoying spectacular views of the Danube Valley. At Esztergom, the northern gate of Budapest, you will pause at the largest cathedral in the country and see the burial sites of famous cardinals as you gaze across the water towards Slovakia. Cross the river and border into Slovakia to see the stunning view from the opposite side.  You will stop at an artists' village in Szentendre, a baroque city located where the Danube River meets the Pilis Mountains. Wander the narrow streets to soak up the magical atmosphere and catch panoramic vistas of the river. You will have time to visit some of the museums, such as the world-famous Margit Kovács Ceramic Museum or the Confectionery Museum, where the buildings and people are made of marzipan. Browse the shops of the village before the return journey to Budapest. Travel from 15th May until 15th September will be on a relaxing boat cruise, a fitting way to arrive back in the city center. In case of low water levels, the return to Budapest will be by bus.

Walk around the baroque settlement, built on medieval ruins, and go up the narrow streets to a panorama point to look out over the Danube. Enjoy the special atmosphere of this village before the trip concludes.

Discover the artistic town of Szentendre (often referred to as the “Artists Village”) during a half-day tour along the Danube River. Travel back in time as you walk through the baroque town center. Pop into souvenir shops, discover restaurants, coffee shops and art galleries in the many listed buildings. Take a cozy walk on vintage streets beloved by artists since the 18th and 19th centuries. Afterwards, climb aboard the scheduled public boat and enjoy a scenic view as you cruise back to Budapest city center. On Tuesdays, you will come back to Budapest by bus.

Start off by seeing the city of Esztergom from another perspective during a photo stop in Slovakia. Then head out in the comfort of an air-conditioned bus and enjoy the remarkable city of Esztergom, home to the largest Catholic church in the country. In addition to experiencing a great view of river valley, you will also have time to enjoy a 3-course lunch in the city of Visegrád. Afterwards, you will continue on to the magical artist’s village of Szentendre, where your guide will show you the downtown area with its cobblestone streets. At the end of the tour, return to Budapest either by boat on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (from 15th May to 27th October) or by bus on every Wednesday (from 15th May to 30th October). In case of extremely low water level on the River Danube, the return to Budapest will be by bus as well.

Between 15th May - 29th October the return trip from Szentendre to Budapest is by bus on every Wednesday. In case of low water level in the Danube or during extremely bad weather, the return trip to Budapest will also take place by bus.

Explore Budapest and Szentendre on this self-guided bike tour. Bike through the Jewish Quarter, see the quaint village of Szentendre, and return to town by boat or train. Pick up your bike in Budapest and begin your self-guided journey. Cycle through the historic Jewish Quarter, passing the massive Dohany Synagogue. Continue through the city center to reach the Danube River. Follow marked paths and scenic routes to see St. Stephen's Basilica, the Financial District, and Liberty Square before reaching the Parliament. Take a quick break to enjoy a stunning view of the river bank before continuing over Margaret Bridge to reach Margarete Island. Cross the island to the north. Pass under Arpad Bridge to reach a bike path leading to the Old Town of Buda. Bike along the old cobblestone streets through historic buildings before reaching the Danube Bicycle Trail. Follow the path through a magical forest and pass Lupa Lake, an artificial lake with crystal clear water. If you wish, stop for a quick swim to cool off (entry fee not included). Continue on a newly built bike path to Szentendre, an idyllic city on the banks of the Danube River. Once you've explored Szentendre, bring your bike back to Bupadest. From Friday to Saturday, hop on a boat at 5:00 P.M. back to town. During the week, take a regional train.

Then, begin to make your way back, to Budapest. The last stop of the tour is in the beautiful town of Szentendre.
