What people are saying about Symi
great trip. boat was lovely and spacious. bottom deck is the best as the top two decks are very busy and also there is air con inside on bottom deck. symi is definitely worth a visit, its absolutely lovely. boat leaves exactly on time so if you are the kind who are always late heading back then beware because you will get left behind! definitely worth doing this if you would like to see the monastery which is a humbling experience. If you make a donation you can light a candle for a loved one or just because. symi is absolutely stunning. staff on the boat were very friendly and there is a shop where you can get snacks, water, coffee etc. I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Rhodes. bus arrived dead on time to pick us up too which is refreshing as so many are often late.
Symi is beautiful and well worth the travelling to get there. However we had planned to do a lot there but it was so hot that we just wandered around, ate lunch, ice cream and had lots of cold drinks! The ferry crew need to tell passengers to wear masks though. The voice on the loud speaker was hard to understand but did say that masks were compulsory. A lot of people ignored the rule and the crew did nothing.
I booked this tour as I wanted to see the wonderful colourful houses of Symi. The transfer was good and I really liked the stop at the Panormitis Monastery on our way to the actual destination. The second "stop" was a mere drive-by and didn't really add something to the whole experience. However, Symi is lovely the people are super freindly and if you are up for a little hike, the view is just amazing.
Very good value for the money. It was well organized and everything ran on time and bus service to the port was very helpful. It was nice that the food concessions on board were reasonably priced. Often food and beverages on tour boats are absurdly priced. The boat is old but sturdy and seaworthy. The heads could use a refit.
The tour was very pleasant. The pickup happened right on time and we were given plenty of time to explore the monastery and the town of Symi. The weather was very hot on the day I visited, so I chose to go to the small beach north of the town for one hour before leaving the island, and I would definitely recommend it!
