Barefoot BLUE is a Custom - built ocean going 16 metre Super Sea Cat with three unobstructed 360 degree viewing decks complete with comfy lounges and plenty of space for all our guests to enjoy the sights of Sydney Harbour and the majesty of the Whales we encounter. BAREFOOT Blue can take up to 70 guests, we have a huge viewing area on the bow and the upper deck is a great vantage point for photographers, the BAREFOOT Whale Watching crew are welcoming, knowledgeable and together have many years of open ocean experience, just ask us! BAREFOOT Blue was built as a full ocean going vessel making her tough and safe design perfect for the open ocean and wildlife encounters. Meet Captain Dean: Captain Dean’s lifes work has been one of ocean adventure and underwater wildlife documentary film making, starting at an early age growing up with his ocean adventurer father Ben Cropp. Like his father Dean’s passion is to share his knowledge and love of the ocean with others so they may learn to love and respect it the way he does. Dean has years of experience observing and filming many different whale species up close and his footage is used by researchers around the world to study whale behaviour. Also as a Captain Dean has lead many expeditions into the Coral Sea, New Caledonia and the wilds of Vanuatu across open ocean and in all kinds of weather, now an exciting TV show BLUEWATER SAFARI on SBS. 25 years exploring the ocean in and around Sydney Harbour and 10 years as a commercial Captain, Dean is a wealth of knowledge and experience that he is more than happy to share.
