Let the majesty of the Blue Mountains unfold before you as you fly from the urban jungle of Sydney to the mountains and rainforest. Enjoy all that Scenic World has to offer: cable cars, the world's steepest scenic railway and panoramic mountain views.
What to Expect
Departing from Sydney Airport, your professional pilot will take you over Sydney Harbour and fly past icons such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House, before heading west past the year 2000 Sydney Olympic site and then on towards Katoomba, located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, the Blue Mountains.
On arrival, you will fly over the most spectacular landmark of the Blue Mountains, the Three Sisters rock formation, before landing at Scenic World. You will have an all-access pass to ride the Scenic Cableway to the valley floor or the Scenic Skyway across the valley, or even the Scenic Railway, the steepest-incline railway in the world.
The 415-meter descent will take you through a cliff-side tunnel down into the Jurassic rainforest, where you have the option of embarking on any one of several short walks. Along the way, explore elements of the site’s coal mining history including the mine entrance, a replica miner's hut and a to-scale bronze sculpture of a miner and his pit pony. Learn about local flora, listen for the native lyre bird or taste pure Blue Mountain water straight from Marangaroo Spring. Enjoy a peaceful moment in the open-air Rainforest Room, or on rest benches located along the route.
Once back at the Scenic World center you can sit, relax and enjoy lunch while overlooking the magnificent Jamison Valley through panoramic picture windows before your return flight to Sydney.
