The day was an absolute awesome day with the other 4 people we had on the tour with us, but the driver Tom, I would never recommend again, he wasn’’t very sociable, drive like a lunatic reaching speeds of 104 km/h in 80 km/h zones and was very pushy with what we had to do. In fact if I knew I was going to have him as a driver again, I would consider cancelling the trip.

If you love to visit small wineries this is the tour for you. This is not a Big Box tour, which is why I picked it. These small wineries love what they do and it shows by the way they interact with you. This makes wine tasting enjoyable. If you are looking for mature meaty wines this is not the area for you. Most are very young and light. Which may be different than what you are used to. It was for me. Do not expect much for the lunch. It says "gourmet", not so much. It was fine, and it did its duty, but gourmet it was not. Better than a plain sandwich for sure. Over all I really enjoyed my first trip to the Hunter Valley. I look forward in going back to try other wine regions in the country.

Frequently asked questions about Sydney

What top attractions are a must-see in Sydney?

Planning Your Visit

  • When to go?

Though some escaping the Northern Hemisphere's coldest months may enjoy the high temperatures of January and February, most will find the heat more bearable come March when fall rolls along. It's nonetheless perfect for checking out Sydney's best beaches! For those seeking lower-budget tourism, the cooler weather and low hotel prices make May the best time to visit.

  • How many days?

Of course it depends on what you want to do, but the must-see sights can be covered in a couple of days. Consider adding a day-trip to the Blue Mountains to your itinerary though, and if you've already booked a longer trip, don't worry! Sydney has enough going on to keep even the pickiest tourist satisfied for weeks.

  • How to get around?

Most of Sydney's attractions lie within the central business district or along the harbor. If you really don't want to walk between them, the City Circle train and the Monorail will take you to and from most points of interest. There is also an inexpensive ferry service that offers fantastic views of Sydney from the water. If you have reason to venture further out, you can check train times and routes at www.transportnsw.info.

I went with my wife and 4 kids (ages 3-12) and we had a great day. The food was great but you had to get in early before they shut service. The whale spotter/guide and captain were clearly experienced, giving lots of detail and finding us some humpbacks during the afternoon. There was lots of info about Sydney and its surrounds during the trips through the harbour too.

The whole experience was such a thrill - we loved the welcome aboard and humour of Jim-boy - he’s a natural to put people at ease ! We had a lovely day for it and saw the best of Sydney from the water ! Me & my grand daughter enjoyed it sooooo much !

Absolutely fantastic experience. Everything was amazing from the Steve., the guide, to every place we visited. We went there for a birthday celebration and it was absolutely amazing! Looking to book a tour again soon!

Great views of the city, harbour bridge and opera house. Nice cruise along the coast line back to the airport as well.

Wonderful day out with 3 boutique wine tastings and cheese and chocolate shopping. Highly recommended!!
