Full description
Discover Mondesa township through the eyes of a local trip leader. Enjoy this tremendously positive half-day experience, hosted by a local community having to deal with the challenges of a post-apartheid era, including the struggle to overcome past injustices. Learn about the daily lives of people from many different origins who have made the township their home. Let your taste buds enjoy Namibia's local food and even cycle through informal settlements. With an estimated 60 thousand inhabitants, Mondesa is one of Namibia's large local townships. You begin your tour at the local food market in Mondesa, cycle through the streets and colorful houses while taking pictures. From here, your next stop is to visit a herero lady in her herero dress and you will learn about different cultures. Enjoy some delicious local food in the townships at a local family home where you will be welcomed by the family. Next, you visit an informal settlement comprised of tin shack dwellings, meeting some of the families in the community. This route takes you through the old and the new Township, a local shopping center, people buying and selling groceries, home-styled hairdressers, and many more colorful sights and sounds. You then head back to the to the old township, where you enjoy some local township lunch and refreshments.

Absolut empfehlenswert!
