Your trail host will also help you learn more about the surrounding mountains, wildlife, and history of this World UNESCO Heritage Site. Ride Banff’s biggest gondola (8-passenger cabin capacity) with the whole family. Start at the base at an elevation of 1,659 m and ride the gondola to the top Village terminal at 2,159 m. Take in all the views of the valley and wildlife. From the Village, join a trail host at the Interpretive Centre before riding the Standing Chairlift to 2,385 m (7,825 ft) and enjoy the vistas of the Sunshine Meadows and alpine lakes, all while learning more about the surrounding mountains, wildlife, and history of this World UNESCO Heritage Site from your knowledgeable host. You will travel past one of the three high alpine lakes, Rock Isle Lake, as you make your way back to the Village via the Sunshine Meadows hiking trails.
