I visited Anne Hathaway’s cottage on a warm, sunny morning so was able to see it at its best and sit for a while in the orchard. It wasn’t just the weather that made it such an enjoyable visit. It was the warmth of the guides at every point. In admission my online ticket was ‘dealt with’, outside I had a comprehensive history and likewise in each room with some additional stories that added interest. Thank you

Best experience we did in Stratford upon Avon. The house was an amazing building to see and visit. The tour guides in each room were so knowledgeable and friendly. Overall the staff were super helpful Definitely worth a visit.

Visit Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, a thatched house nestled in an idyllic cottage garden Located 1.5 miles outside of Stratford-upon-Avon in Shottery, with these entry tickets. See where Shakespeare's bride-to-be Anne Hathaway was born and grew up.
Discover the stories of 13 generations of Anne's family who lived here for over 5 centuries. See original family furniture, including the 4-poster Hathaway bed and courting couch, and the family home where Shakespeare would have visited during the early part of their courtship.

Once a working farm with barns, livestock, and fields, the homestead has been transformed over time into a beautiful thatched gem with glorious, award-winning gardens. Built more than 500 years ago and extended over the years, much of the original property survives.

Explore the famous Shakespeare/Hathaway love story as you walk through acres of beautiful cottage gardens, heritage orchards, woodland walks, and sculpture trails inspired by Shakespeare's plays.

We thought Anne Hathaway’s Cottage was the best venue we visited in Stratford upon Avon. We walked from the centre which was a pleasant walk of 20mins. The staff at the Cottage were very informative and chatty. We really enjoyed our experience. It was nice to have a cafe onsite too after our walk.
