Full description

Head south departing from Strasbourg where the first stop will be in Bergheim, a superb village on the wine route that contains many hidden wonders within its medieval walls. You will then have the opportunity to visit the charming town of Ribeauvillé, the ancient fief of the Lords of Ribeaupierre. History will call out to you on every one of its pedestrian streets.  After a visit to Hunawihr and a photo stop in front of its famous fountain, you will head to a local winemaker to taste traditional Alsatian wines. Enjoy the lunch break in the village of Riquewihr, one of the best-known in the region —  particularly renowned because of its idyllic location in the heart of the vineyard. The tour will continue to two villages that are equally famous for their historical character: Kaysersberg and Eguisheim. These two medieval villages have been elected “Favorite Villages of the French", a famous French program celebrating the year of the French’s favorite villages. Kaysersberg won the edition in 2017 and Eguisheim in 2013. Head back to Strasbourg at the end of the afternoon, after a day filled with great memories and beautiful images.

Loved this! Exceeded my expectations of the historical Alsace villages. It felt like we went back in time and walked down the cobblestone streets. I can see why Beauty and the Beast was inspired by these villages! I wish the audio tour talked more about the culture and how people lived and their day to day lives rather than so much on how different wars impacted the villages. Our guide was a wonderful driver! LOVED the convertible van, it had charging stations and WiFi! The windows were plenty big so we could take lots of pictures.

A lovely tour, we had a great guide and plenty of time to take in the views and wander throughout the villages. Apart from the 4 villages where we stopped to visit, we also passed through several others and our guide made sure to stop at panorama points and to offer info. There was also a wine tasting set-up at the end of the tour ( where you could also buy wine), and in the last village we visited there is a large regional wine store, so plenty of opportunities for buying Alsacian wines, The recorded audio offers a lot of information about the history of Alsace, and each and every village we passed through, so overall a well-organised, informative and picturesque day!

It was an amazing day! The tour offered much more villages to be seen by the coach or walked! We usually spent 1-2 hours in each village. The audio guide was easy to follow. It was mostly about when the villages were built and conquered. Also infos on the wines. Our guide Martin was polite and friendly. The coach was so much fun to be driven around! We also did a visit in the winery Katin and had some glasses of wine there. Totally worth to do! I would do it again! The easiest way to see all these picturesque villages!
