Full description
Stonehenge is perhaps the most famous prehistoric monument in the world. It was built in several stages, beginning as a simple earthwork enclosure. The unique linteled stone circle was erected in the late Neolithic period, around 2500 B.C. Your timed admission ticket gives you access to a site that has continued to attract interest for centuries. Today Stonehenge, Avebury, and other associated locations comprise a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring a unique and dense concentration of prehistoric monuments. Stonehenge has been the subject of speculation and fascination since at least the early medieval period. How did Neolithic people construct this masterpiece of engineering using only the simple tools and technologies available to them? Hundreds of prehistoric objects from the Stonehenge World Heritage Site are on display in the visitor center. One of the new features at Stonehenge is an outdoor gallery that includes several reconstructed Neolithic houses. Using archaeological evidence and authentic materials, these buildings provide a glimpse into the lifestyle of the Neolithic people who built Stonehenge. Stonehenge has many different meanings to people today. It is an icon of Britain, a wonder of the world, a spiritual place, and a source of inspiration.

You always see this beautiful place in movies, right? Well, although you may think it's just "rocks," it is worth it. My family and I drive to Stonehenge from Luton. It took about 2.5 hrs instead of paying a tour that will take all day, go on your own, so much easier. I booked through Get You Guide. Make sure to put Stonehedge Visitor Center in your GPS, and it will take you straight to car parking. Go to the visitor center and exchange your ticket. You can walk to the stones(30 mins walk) or take the free shuttle. I suggest wearing warm clothes! We went in May, and it was extremely windy, I regret not wearing a hat. Bathrooms and a restaurant at the V.Center. Don't forget to check out Sailbury downtown, 25 mins from the Stones.

Fantastic experience. The chance to walk among the stones as part of a small group with a very knowledgeable guide was definitely one of my favourite gifts ever. The group was only around 20 people, and there was plenty of stories and facts from the guide, plus unlimited photo opportunities that you'd never have from a standard Stonehenge visit.

It’s my second visit to the Stonehenge. I enjoyed the beautiful landscape so much so that I brought my family this time and they loved it too! Parking was easy and convenient, close enough to the visitor’s centre. The staff at the ticketing office were friendly. The cafe staff were patient and demonstrated care and attention to details. The waitress made sure our table was wiped clean and sanitised. Thank you.
