Take advantage of a combined entry ticket to visit the iconic Vasa Museum and the newly opened Vrak – Museum of Wrecks in Stockholm. Explore the world's only preserved 17th-century ship and learn about maritime archeology.

The Baltic Sea is home to more well-preserved wrecks than anywhere else on earth. Discover their fascinating stories on a visit to the Vrack – Museum of Wrecks. Enjoy interactive digital experiences including film encounters, lifelike VR dives, holograms, and games.

Then, head to the Vasa Museum to see the 64-gun warship Vasa that sank on her maiden voyage in 1628. This is the only nearly fully intact 17th-century ship that has ever been salvaged.

Walk through 11 interesting exhibitions around the ship and take advantage of the multi-level viewing platforms to admire the well-preserved craftsmanship from different angles.

Listen to an audio guide for both the Vrak Museum and the Vasa Museum directly onto your smartphone and hear interesting information as you explore the exhibitions at your own pace.

Once you're done, make sure to pop into either museum's well-stocked gift shop offering themed products. Or grab a bite to eat and enjoy a cup of coffee at the  Vrak Café and Bar. In the summertime, the café's outdoor seating offers a view of the Stockholm harbor.

  • Both museums are located within walking distance of each other on Djurgården and both are open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (subject to change)
  • You don't have to visit both museums on the same day. Your second museum visit can take place any time within 72 hours after your first museum visit
  • Explore both museums with an audio guide. The link to the audio guides will be provided in your voucher
  • At the Vrak – Museum of Wrecks, you experience wrecks digitally through VR and holograms. There are no wrecks on display. The museum also offers a daily tour in English. The tour starts at 3:00 PM at the entrance to the museum and is included in the ticket price
  • The Vrak Museum is a cash-free museum

Both museums are wonderful. No need for a guided tour in Vrack - it’s small and well marked. Some good use of technology for fun activities- my kids would have loved it when they were young. The Vasa is so big and overwhelming at first. The tour was helpful to orient a pathway through this incredible museum. Super interesting displays on how remains were used to identify what kinds of people were on the ship.

Vasa Museum was amazing! The details on the ship were magnificent and definitely worth a look. Loads of information about life on the ship in the 17th century. Vrak Museum on the other hand was kind of a let down, definitely suited more for younger people with all the mini-missions etc. they had. Information about the Estonia tragedy with the recording of the heart-breaking S-O-S call was the most important part of our visit.

Jaw dropping experience, go for an off season week day (Wed 10am - 8pm) where you can walk around without the crowds and take better photos. Even my wife who isn't 'heavy' into maritime was impressed with Vasa, sub-displays & history. Go for a combo ticket with the Museum of Wrecks (Vrak) which is excellent in itself, but better if you do the Vasa 2nd, which is the order we were recommended.
