Take a walk in the pagan grave field with your Viking guide and uncover the Vikings' burial traditions and mythology. Learn about how a person was buried.

Also hear the story of Estrid - a Viking woman. In 1995 a skeleton was found in a Christian part of the gravefield, it was a 60-year old woman identified as Estrid. Discover how the Stockholm County Museum were able to identify her and experience her life.  The next stop is Jarlabanki's causeway, an 11th century Viking age bridge built by Earl Jarlabanki. He was a cocky Viking who liked to show off his power. Take in the view of the 150-meter long causeway and learn about bridge-building and the development of roads and communication in that era.

Head on to a Viking council, preserved in its original location for 1000 years. Get to understand the Viking culture, society, and mentality through the guide's explanation at the council. Learn how the Vikings ruled their society. The main attraction on this tour is Sigtuna. The little town of 8000 inhabitants is the oldest still existing town in Sweden and holds many historical gems both on the streets and inside the Sigtuna Museum.

Enjoy a guided walk in the town a have around 45 minutes of free time on your own. The Viking Tour was really interesting, especially as our guide - Quentin from France - was so passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. We adapted around some bad weather, and he was extremely accommodating when dropping us off at destinations of our choice. I especially enjoys Sigtuna. It's a bit touristy, but if you walk down to the lake, it is very beautiful and peaceful.

Angus and Jonathan were enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. They tailored their tour to our interests and to those of our kids. It was lovely to get out of town and see some beautiful countryside and to be able to match them up with artifacts we’d seen museums. We found it moving to be in places where the Vikings really lived and fantastic go to some spots we would otherwise have missed. We all learned heaps! Top marks, we were buzzing for days.

The tour was interesting and you the guide seems knowledgeable. I learned some new things about the Vikings. My only complaint was that the guide would stand in front of the runes or church building while he talked about it so it was hard to get pictures since once he was done talking he started walking away for the next thing. Maybe it was his way of making us pay attention to him, I don't know.
