Stockholm: Self Guided Kayak Adventure

The kayak dock is located right in the heart of the city, just 400 m from the Adventure Café, so you will start your self-guided tour in a prime location. Enjoy a leisurely sightseeing paddle that allows you a fabulous vantage point as you look in on the city from your kayak. Stockholm is lovingly known as “The Venice of the North” as it is situated over 14 islands and linked by 57 bridges, so exploring by kayak is a great way to see the city. Even better, paddle at your own pace on a self-guided tour. You'll be provided a brief introduction on kayaking and all the equipment needed for your adventure, then you can set sail on your adventure.
Day 1: You will begin by traveling for 45-60 minutes to the Central Archipelago. From there the departure point and route will be adjusted to weather conditions as well as the experience of the level of the group. Before the tour starts, all camping equipment, food, and water will need to be packed in the correct manner, following which you will receive advanced safety instructions and paddling techniques. The group will then leave the kayak station at around 10:30AM, assuming an easy paddling speed so that everyone can get used to their kayak. Following approximately 2 hours of paddling it will be time for your first lunch break on a small, secluded island which could have a beach and the opportunity to swim. You will stop for about 1.5 hours and prepare lunch on an open fire, after which the tour continues paddling for about 2 hours. On the way you will see bird life...

From there your guide will decide the route, taking into consideration the abilities of the group and weather conditions as they do so. Before the tour starts your guide will provide advanced safety and paddling instruction techniques, after which once you are ready, it will be time to hop into the kayak and start paddling. The first part of the trip requires about 2 hours of paddling. It will then be time for the first lunch break on one of the many islands. Following lunch, the tour continues with about 2 hours of paddling, providing great vantage points over the beauty of the archipelago.
