From Praslin: Cousin, Curieuse & St Pierre Islands Day Tour

1. From Praslin: Cousin, Curieuse & St Pierre Islands Day Tour

Full-Day Cousin, Curieuse, and St Pierre Islands tour. Start with a transfer to Baie Ste Anne jetty for the 2-km crossing to the Special Nature Reserve of Cousin island. A cruiser moors off-shore and tourists are taken to the island on a Reserve boat to prevent accidental introduction of pests to the island. It is highly recommended that tourists come prepared to wrap their belongings in water-proof bags, and that they respect the safety regulations of donning life jackets and remaining seated until the craft is beached. A warden leads the tour of the island with its abundance of species and habitats, from the coast with its protective mangroves, to the wetlands which attract dragonflies, moorhens, caecilans & Seychelles terrapins; on to the rejuvenated forest on the hill plateau which provides ideal nesting sites for large populations of shearwaters and bridled terns amongst its endemic trees - mapou, Indian mulberry and bwa sousouri. Endemic birds found on Cousin Island are the Magpie Robin, Sunbird, Fody, Blue Pigeon and the Warbler. The tour continues with a 30-minute boat ride to Curieuse Island, where a splendid BBQ lunch is served on the beach. Curieuse island has a large population of giant tortoises, some can be seen next to the natural pond on the coast, whilst the majority range across the island freely and can sometimes be tracked by their vociferate calls of intimate congress. The tour ends with an hour's snorkeling off the tiny island of St. Pierre. For the un-initiated, our crew is on hand with lightweight snorkelling vests to ensure that no-one misses the chance to view the abundant marine life.

The Curieuse Marine National Park is a sanctuary to a big variety of flora and fauna. On the southern part of the island, you will discover a mangrove swamp that is traversed by a walkway for park visitors. The island is also known for its coco de merpalms, giant takamaka trees, and a large hawksbill turtle rookery. The area is also rich with several bird species, such as the rare Seychelles black parrot Coracopis nigra barklyi, a parrot found only there and on Praslin. St. Pierre Island is a raised reef island west of Providence Atoll and a part of the Farquhar Group, which belongs to the Outer Islands of the Seychelles. It has a distance of 736 kilmometers southwest of the capital, Victoria, on Mahé Island. St. Pierre is a tiny granite islet with a handful of coconut palm trees. It’s a picture-perfect miniature island in the middle of the ocean. St. Pierre is considered as one of Seychelles best snorkeling locations, providing the opportunity to see a wide variety of colorful fish and sea turtles. The full day tour includes a delicious BBQ Lunch as well as soft drinks. Perfect, I advise you with your eyes closed Reynold is very friendly he picked us up at our hotel and then dropped us off again. In addition, he speaks very good French which is a big plus. The excursion is magnificent the curious islands and its giant turtles with a short hike to discover the magnificent landscapes. Hearty meal and very very good (halal meat) We had the opportunity to snorkel in several places just perfect nothing to say The guide also speaks French and is very kind.

What a great excursion! It was on a small boat so we weren’t in a big crowd. We got tons of freedom to spend as much time as we liked with the tortoises. The snorkelling on St. Pierre was great too! Not a ton of bright coral but lots of great fish and cool granite features. Our guide spoke great English and did a perfect job of getting us the info we needed while not being intrusive. Also, the Get Your Guide customer support is amazing. 10/10 for this whole trip

The personal was super friendly and helpful. Making sure we were confortable on the boat. When My girlfriend got a small cut in her feet they used professionaly the first-aid kit and helped her feeling easy. Super recommended.

Apart from the natural beauty of visited places our guide was very fine gave us a lot of info. Baracudas and chicken for lunch were super! As well as fruit!

Awesome experience with a nice guide and small group
