Full description
Entering St. Petersburg subway, you can easily mix the station with the magnificent palace hall or five-star hotel lobby. It’s not an accident! In Soviet times, the subway stations were built as palaces for the people. Many stations are true works of art. They are all made of marble and richly decorated with mosaics, sculptures and stained glass to represent the prosperity and power of Soviet Union. And behind this beauty there’s an astonishing history, jokes, stories and legends. On our Petersburg Metro Tour you will see the most beautiful and historically significant metro stations: Uprising Square, with bas-reliefs on the revolutionary events Avtovo, the true underground palace Kirov Plant, with bas-reliefs of the Soviet heavy industry Admiralty, one of the deepest subway stations in the world

Our experience gained was to pay Euro 30 to walk down the congested escalators and learn how good the metros operate in this country. The only cost invested by the organisers to take you on this trip was a small coin to enter the Underground metro, which probably is there in every country. The sole damage control on this trip was the tour guide Mr. Vlad, who surprisingly with such fantastic talent and knowledge did such odd jobs, probably to only make Get Your Guide rich with the abnormal costs charged for an activity that is virtually free. However as mentioned before, Mr. Vlad was priceless and the only silver lining to the cloud. There are plenty of beautiful options available in St. Petersburg than to run between the crowded metros, defeating the very purpose of traveling all the way to St. Petersburg.
