Full description
Enjoy a 6-hour tour that takes you from St. Petersburg to Tsarskoe Selo (Pushkin) and Pavlovsk to see the magnificent summer residences of the former Russian tsars. Explore the opulent settings in which the monarchs lived, worked, granted audiences, arranged diplomatic receptions, and hosted gala balls and masquerades. Embark on a comfortable chauffeured drive to the town of Tsarskoe Selo, or Pushkin. Marvel at the grandeur of the Russian Baroque palace of Catherine the Great as well as the interior of the Amber Room. After a short drive from Pushkin, arrive at the palace and park complex of Pavlovsk. This imperial estate was the residence of Emperor Paul I, the son of Catherine the Great. Admire the magnificent palace sitting on a hill overlooking a park, landscaped in English style with a river running through it. The huge and magically landscaped park was laid out in the area surrounding the Palace of Paul I to provide him with some solitude. Johann Strauss once performed with an orchestra in the park’s Musical Station.
