This was a private family tour of Catherine the Great's Summer Palace, the Hermitage and the Winter palace with hotel pickup and drop off in a clean late model minivan The tour was efficiently run with punctual pickup and drop off at the various locations. There was a seperate driver and tour guide. The guide gave an oustanding background to the Romanov family which resembled the detail of a Russian novel. This was as well as information specific to various exhibits. We had teenage children and our guide initially sanitised parts of the story but we indicated we were happy to tell it as it was and she happily complied. Our children were not upset.

Small group was great.

Lovely to be picked up from the hotel lobby and taken to the Hermitage and enjoyed immediate entry into the museum. Guide was knowledgeable and showed us all the “must see” exhibits without rushing us when we wanted to stop for a bit longer at certain pieces. The trip to Catherine Palace was comfortable and once there, guide was once again informative. Lovely day spent.

Vinterpaladset og Katarinapladset er begge enorme, så at blive guidet rundt er uundværligt. Guiden Valeria var passioneret om begge steders historie og fortalte vidt og bredt om diverse kuriositeter, man ikke havde fået med, hvis man havde besøgt stederne på egen hånd. Ved transporten mellem de to paladser får man ligeledes gode historier om Skt. Petersborgs og Ruslands historie.
