Full description

Enjoy this 6-hour private tour that takes you from St. Petersburg to Tsarskoe Selo (Pushkin) and Pavlovsk to see the magnificent summer residences of the former Russian tsars. The monarchs lived, worked, granted audiences, arranged diplomatic receptions, and hosted gala balls and masquerades in these opulent settings. A comfortable chauffeured drive takes you to the town of Tsarskoe Selo, or Pushkin, where you’ll marvel at the grandeur of the Russian Baroque palace of Catherine the Great as well as the interior of the Amber Room. This is considered one of the world's wonders. After just a short drive from Pushkin you’ll arrive at the stunning palace and park complex of Pavlovsk. This imperial estate was the residence of Emperor Paul I, the son of Catherine the Great. The estate's magnificent palace sits on a hill overlooking a park, which is landscaped in the English style and has a beautiful river running through it. The huge and magically landscaped park was laid out in the area surrounding the Palace of Paul I to provide him with some solitude. Johann Strauss once performed with an orchestra in the park’s Musical Station.

Very nice. Punctual and friendly guide (Eugenio). The car and the driver also made the trip very pleasant: everything very clean and correct. A luxury to have a guide for you just explaining all the details of the Palaces, which are beautiful. Eugenio is a competent guide. On leaving, it was a joy to see that we had avoided the huge queues for tickets. It is an expensive activity but it is worth it.

A very capable tour operator that can only be recommended. Immediately after booking we received a telephone confirmation of the tour directly to our hotel. On the day, everything was organised perfectly: timely pick-up from the hotel, friendly, German-speaking guide and driver, entrances fees to the museums, and drop-off at the hotel. Besides the cold facts, the guide knew a lot about the background story of St. Petersburg, the histroy, and buildings. At first glance CHF 150 may seem a lot per person for a tour, but it included the driver, guide, entrance fees to various attractions especially the Czars Palace, which in Russia are very pricey for tourists.
