Discover St. Petersburg’s hidden landmarks in this 3-hour walking tour through backyards of elaborate art nouveau buildings and past historic monuments. Enjoy a traditional honey beer in a uniquely themed bar and discover the Wizard of Oz’s Emerald City.
What to Expect
Begin your journey of St. Petersburg’s hidden gems at the Vosstania Square metro station, formerly also a nuclear fallout shelter and go on a quest to find the last surviving image of Stalin in lavish décor.
Visit a local Soviet Air Force themed bar and sample authentic local honey beer. Run by a Russian aerobatics team, the bar features ejection seats and a SU-27 tail fin fixed to the wall behind the bar.
Continue to the Soviet building where the ‘Red October’ nuclear submarines were designed, before passing through the dark and narrow ‘well yard’ alleys, located behind stunning art nouveau-style buildings, toward the Baltiysky train station. Carry on to see an entire park dedicated to the Wizard of Oz. Gaze at the thematic paintings and sculptures displayed in this yard and marvel at the Emerald City playground!
End your journey at Vladimirskaya metro station, but not before passing by the monument dedicated to the famous Russian author Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
