What to Expect
On this 4-hour diving tour you will explore the shipwreck of a former Rum Runner a few miles off the southwest coast of Grenada at a depth of 32 meters. The wreck itself isn’t necessarily the most interesting part of the dive, although it is nicely covered with sponges, soft corals, and is always surrounded by 2 beautiful French angelfish. A lot more exciting is the entirely healthy reef rising close by from 30 meters to 16 meters.
As there’s nearly always a slight or moderate current running over the reef you can be sure to spot plenty of reef fish including colorful creole wrasse, trumpet fish, different kinds of moray eels, lobsters, and much more. Nurse sharks and eagle rays are certainly not common but have been spotted on several occasions.
You’ll begin your dive by a free descent though the blue to a depth of 30 meters to 32 meters. In general you will spend around 10 minutes around the wreck before slowly ascending to a shallower depth while swimming at the edge of the reef and working your way up to the reef top. Due to its depth, the dive time usually doesn’t exceed 40 minutes but it is certainly a great 40 minutes.
