Full description

Embark on a day in inland Croatia on an outdoor excursion to Plitvice Lakes National Park by van. Visit Croatia's largest national park and marvel at its turquoise blue waterfall waters. Watch cascades of clear water smoothly flow in front of your eyes as you walk through the park's pristine natural grounds and sit on a boat cruise to the lower lakes.

Leave Split and Trogir and enjoy a drive through the countryside toward a unique jewel - the Plitvice Lakes. On arrival, start your tour on foot through the woods, led by your guide.

Cross Gornja Jezera, which are the upper lakes, and continue by boat, accompanied by the sound of the waterfalls, to Donja Jezera, the lower lakes.

Approach the Great Falls, 78-meters (256-feet) high, and hear the roaring thunder of the water hitting the ground. Go to Outlook Cave, made famous from the scene in Karl May’s movie, “Treasure of Silver Lake.” End your journey with a panoramic train ride.

Recuperate with an optional lunch in a local restaurant. Return to Split after your tour.

Smooth experience from pickup to dropoff. Our guide, Peter, was knowledgeable and has a sense of humor. I noticed our route was a bit different from the other groups which helped avoid the long lines. I’m thankful for that. Enough stops were given for breaks and food. The van itself was comfortable (I slept most of the time).

Such a fun day trip experience. The tour guide was so funny and made the day enjoyable. By taking this trip with a guide, we bypassed the heavy park traffic and worked our way through the parks with fun tips along the journey. Highly recommend this booking! Plus you get to stop along the way and enjoy some delicious coffee and pastries!

In general, quite good, the guide was very nice and explained a little about the history of Split, Croatia and recommended things to do and typical food as part of the excursion. The route was quite good, but there were no big stops either, you had to be careful not to fall behind. We had a day with a little rain, so the group decided that we would not have lunch inside the park, but instead at a traditional food restaurant, although I would have liked to have had that time to stay in the park a while longer.
