Full description

Embark on a day in inland Croatia on an outdoor excursion to Plitvice Lakes National Park by van. Visit Croatia's largest national park and marvel at its turquoise blue waterfall waters. Watch cascades of clear water smoothly flow in front of your eyes as you walk through the park's pristine natural grounds and sit on a boat cruise to the lower lakes.

Leave Split and Trogir and enjoy a drive through the countryside toward a unique jewel - the Plitvice Lakes. On arrival, start your tour on foot through the woods, led by your guide.

Cross Gornja Jezera, which are the upper lakes, and continue by boat, accompanied by the sound of the waterfalls, to Donja Jezera, the lower lakes.

Approach the Great Falls, 78-meters (256-feet) high, and hear the roaring thunder of the water hitting the ground. Go to Outlook Cave, made famous from the scene in Karl May’s movie, “Treasure of Silver Lake.” End your journey with a panoramic train ride.

Recuperate with an optional lunch in a local restaurant. Return to Split after your tour.

The experience has been great in everything! Our guide Igor was excellent, great fun. The excursion is a 3:30-hour journey by minibus with a stop in the middle to go to the toilet and have breakfast (the same on the way back). The service area is very good. The trip seems long but it was not heavy for us. Since we left early, we slept on the way out. And on the way back we were exhausted from walking and slept too. The park is Spectacular! It's worth going. There are many people but you can appreciate the surroundings well and nothing overwhelming is done. From what I have seen of people who went on their own, I think that going with a guide accompanying you (except for a while to eat) is much better. He made us tour the park in a different way and we were able to see everything, without having to worry about transportation within the park (there are ferries and trains to get around). Going with the guide makes you completely unconcerned as well as explaining curiosities throughout

Great trip, well worth the drive! It’s a long day, but quite an easy walk around the lakes. Stunning views, really once in a lifetime experience and was the highlight of our trip to Split. It wasn’t overcrowded, just the right amount to get some beautiful photos. You cannot swim in the lakes but this means it’s kept in perfect condition and crystal clear. Our guide Ivor was great and very funny too. The coach was brand new making the drive much more enjoyable. Ivan was a great driver too! We stopped at a lovely restaurant on the way back, the nicest dinner all week and the cheapest too! Highly recommend the day.

My tour guide was Andrej and my boyfriend and I loved him! We were on his sept 2nd tour. He was so funny and gave us great tips for the rest of our trip in Croatia. He knew all the tricks for Plitvice to try to avoid crowds as much as possible and made sure we saw as much as we could in the time we had. Thank you Andrej!!
