Spac Prison

Spaç Prison is a notorious former prison facility in Albania. It is located in the village of Spaç, near the town of Burrel in the northern part of the country. The prison has a dark and oppressive history as it was one of the main political prisons during the communist era. Spaç Prison was established during the reign of Enver Hoxha, who ruled Albania from the late 1940s until his death in 1985. It stands as a haunting reminder of the oppressive regime that once ruled the country. In recent years, there has been growing interest in Spaç Prison as a historical site. Efforts have been made to document and preserve the memories of those who suffered within its walls, and it has become a symbol of Albania's struggle for freedom and democracy.
