The Vincentre in Nuenen uses modern audio-visual technology to tell the story of 2 characters: the artist Vincent van Gogh and the town of Nuenen. During the 2-hour experience you’ll become increasingly involved in the story. Follow van Gogh's footsteps and experience the atmosphere of the time when he arrived in Nuenen. See the magnified images of the landscapes and churches that the artist painted while he lived there. Listen to passages from letters written by the artist, glance into the personal belongings of the people who were much loved by van Gogh, and finally see The Potato Eaters come to life in a multimedia presentation entitled The Whole of Nuenen in 1 Masterpiece. You’re no longer a spectator treading in van Gogh's footsteps, but are immersed in his visionary world, seeing it all through his eyes. Head outside to experience for yourself what van Gogh would originally have seen. The booklet Out and About with Vincent will lead you through the center of Nuenen, The Outdoor Museum. See many of the sources of van Gogh’s inspiration that are still here. There are 23 locations having a direct bearing on the artist’s 2-year stay in Nuenen. You’ll be standing on the spots where van Gogh once stood to make sketches for his paintings. It’s up to you how long you want to allow for the walk. You can see these locations in an hour, or you can take half a day if you’d like a more thorough experience. A visit to the stylishly designed shop and coffee corner will complete your tour. Note that overseas visitors will have access to an audio guide throughout.
