What People Are Saying About Souks
Gratitude to the guide Karim, the driver Hassan and all the friendly citizens we met in the berber village Imlil in the high Atlas mountains. Caring guidance, safe drive, pleasant camel ride, good food, exciting muleride in the narrow path of Imlil, mint tea in the berber house with the finest view to the Mountains and the best company you could wish for. And most important - deep respect to the compassionate way you relate and deal with each other and your guests. We would love to visit you all again
Abraham was a friendly, kind and caring private knowledgable guide and a host loved by the locals. He made us feel welcomed and the day go really quickly! Walking is not quite our hobby but he made the 3 hours walking local adventure experience really enjoyable! We also received a Tajine as a farewell gift, which we will cherish. This tour was not about siteseeing of historical or famous places but it was more of blending with the local Berbers and adventures in to the villages and towns of Atlas Mountains. Not quite what we originally expected but it turned out to be one of the best unique experience! THANK YOU!
From morning till evening, the guide and driver went above and beyond to make our trip more enjoyable. We were surprised to learn the tour was only for us and it actually turned out to be quite intimate that way. Throughout the day, we saw all terrains of the Atlas Mountains and experienced all weathers as well but it truly shows you the beauty and diversity of Moroccan nature! The lunch on the terrace was breathtaking and kofta was appetizing. My friend and I have never been to Morocco so I would definitively reccomend these guys for newcomers, as they will guide you in their hometowns very comfortably. During the car journey bits, the guide was very informative and learned a lot about the history of Marrakech, languages, Berber people and tourism in the city. Love love loved it!
Thank you so much to Ibrahim for guiding is around the Atlas Mountains. He was so knowledgeable, interesting, helpful - he even got a Mule to carry my mother and 22 month old son up the mountain so help make the experience a memorable one and easy one for all. And he even carried my little boy when we could no longer use a mule! Unfortunately the weather was not on our side but regardless; to be a part of that experience was one we shall cherish for ever. Gorton our driver was very hospitable and the private car that collected us was spacious, comfy, warm and clean. Gorton was helpful and friendly and a great driver for this trip. Thank you to the team that fed us at the guest house- it was delicious food and with the views of the snow tipped mountains it was so special. What a fantastic adventure to have shared with my little boy and mother. I am truly grateful for you allowing us to really enjoy your country and home town with you.
The day started at the great square where we met our driver. The drive in a well climated 4x4 lasted just over 1 hour. On the way we made one stop for a photo and the stop at the Argan Oil shop. We politely declined their offer to buy any goods. Arriving at the village we met our guide Mohammed, who is a very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful guide. We had a very nice chat and soon arrived at the first village across the river. While you're constantly harassed to buy stuff in Marrakech these guys where very polite. Be prepared to climb and by that I mean actual climbing. anything less than trainers could be very dangerous. On the first waterfall we had enough time to take pictures. The further up we went the rockier the ways got. At some point he'll ask if you want to go further. If you're afraid of heights DON'T go it's very high but with an amazing view. Back at the village you're offered to eat there but it's ok to decline. This trip was nothing short of amazing.
