Overall this was a great tour! Our guide and driver were outstanding, very funny, entertaining on the bus ride to Pompeii, and very knowledgeable once we arrived to the ruins and Mt Vesuvius. Now, my only complaint was that come lunch time, they do pressure everyone on the tour to have lunch at the restaurant they stop at which is 14 euro per person, and it is family style so no you can't share. They give you about an hour for lunch, so we walked down a little ways and got sandwiches/chips and drinks for about 10 euro total. Im sure the tour company has a deal with that restaurant. You are better off packing your own lunch or walking down sandwich shops to save money. Once to Mt Vesuvius, it felt like we had too much time there. We made it to the top and back and still had over an hour to spare, so we went to the bus to wait, as did most of the others on the tour. I felt that time could be cut down.

Great guide despite the torrential rain

We went in May and had the worst rain and storms during our 3 day trip, which was a shame. Pompei was impressive, although the crowds were unbelievable and a future visit I would take out of season. Vesuvius was shrouded in cloud so could not see the crater or the view of Naples but our guide was very good and gave us lots of information about the volcano and Pompei. The coach pick up point from Sorrento was at a bus/coach station and maybe the arrangements for where everybody should wait could have been better, as everybody seemed to be walking around (in the rain) trying to locate their vehicle

A great day, with a few bumps.

When we first got on the bus and the guide mentioned she would be around to collect everyone's money for the entry fees to Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii, we panicked for a second. Somehow, we were the only ones on our tour who paid for all the entry fees in advance. After mentioning it to the guide, she said she knew we owed nothing. Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii were everything we expected. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative about Pompeii. Our only problem was, it said "Lunch on your own", we thought this meant we would be in an area with a few options which to purchase our lunch. Instead, it meant they took you to a restaurant, and they charged you 14 Euro a person for an okay meal. We could have easily shared the lunch, or brought our own if we had known the specifics in advance.
