Here’s a great tour combination for you, a Salona and Fortress of Klis Tour!  First, a car, van or a minibus will take you to the remains of the ancient Split suburbs, once known as Salona, where you will gaze upon the ruins of a once grand cultural hotspot. The town of Solin developed on the ancient ruins of Salona. In the late ancient times, Salona had great political and religious influence. Salona was founded after the Roman civil war under Julius Caesar and it was a striving town, three times bigger than Pompeii. Today, Solin is a beautiful town, popular with both locals and tourists. Afterwards, you will visit the Fortress of Klis, a fort with the best view of Split and the surrounding areas. The Fortress of Klis has a history of more than 2000 years, starting with the Illyrian tribe called Dalmatae that used it as a stronghold before it was occupied by the Romans. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the site became a seat for Croatian kings. The famous series Game Of Thrones was filmed there, so if you are a fan, this is a must!

From Split: Half-day tour to Salona, Kaštela and Trogir

From Split: Half-day tour to Salona, Kaštela and Trogir

A half-day trip to Trogir from Split takes you to a three spectacular places! Our first stop is Salona, the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia, formed on the delta of the river Jadro. The first inhabitants were the Illyrian tribe Delmati in the 3rd century BC. During the reign of the Roman Empire, Salona became the vastest Roman city on the east coast of the Adriatic and had a population of 60,000. In the 7th century, the town was attacked by Avars and Slavs. Residents fled to a shelter on neighboring islands, leaving Salona to decay. The second stop of our day trip to Trogir from Split is the city of Kaštela. Kaštela is the common name for castles - fortifications built in the Kaštela Bay near Split in the 15th and 16th centuries. The castles served as the country houses of Renaissance aristocratic families. Seven settlements developed around these fortifications. Kaštela is famous for its wines, olive oil, fishing, and maritime tradition. We will visit the most famous Vitturi castle in Kaštel Lukšić. Our last locality is Trogir, the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic city in Central Europe founded by the Greeks in the 3rd century BC. In Trogir, we will see the work of a great sculptor such as Nikola Florentinac (Ćipiko Palace), Majstor Radovan (Radovan's portal at the Cathedral of St. Lawrence) and many others.

I had the best time, thank you so much for this experience! The crew was amazing, lovely young men who genuinely cared about us having a great day! The cruise was nice and so was the boat. The three locations were great too, I preferred the Blue Lagoon and the bar at the end that was in a gorgeous setting, I could have stayed even longer! The cherry on top was the people I met on the boat, I made some genuine connections with lovely people that I intend on seeing again in the future! So all in all an amazing experience!

Great experience with this tour, the boat and crew were amazing and I would do it all over again if I could! The islands and beaches they took us to were very fun, a lot of clear blue (or green?) water, beverages on board and a burger for lunch!

Has a amazing day. Value for money is excellent! Our guide was lovely. Very friendly and helpful. I. Would highly recommend this trip.

The boat and the crew were great. Just the music all the time...I would have preferred less. Otherwise, very good
