What people are saying about Sofia

I had a really great time with our tour guide named Luco (Lachezar Gudev). I have been travelling to 70 countries, go on many tours, I can say that Luco is one of the best. He tried his best ensuring we enjoyed our time as much as possible throughout the journey and I honestly think he cares more about guest's satisfaction rather than money. I felt like I was doing the hike with a friend instead of a guide. After we arrived, those who chose to be on yourself like me will go on their own but will bump into the guide groups once a while. The paths are 90% clearly marked. I strongly suggest for anyone who wants to visit Seven Rila Lakes to take this tour rather than combining with the monastery. This tour will take you to go hiking on the scenic route (as you have more time) but the combined tour will takes you on a different route and not allowing you to climb up to the 7th lakes summit (time limitation).

A great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors as the locals do. On Vitosha Mountain - the "lungs" of Sofia- we shared a day in the park with local hikers and families enjoying the weekend with their kids and dogs. I ended the day physically tired but so happy and stimulated to learn more about this beautiful country. My guide Maria was so much more than a tour guide, she taught me about history, language, food, flora and fauna - In one day I learned more about Bulgaria from her than I could have learned from any book. I definitely recommend her and would love to have her as my guide again on a future visit.

Definitely a worthwhile trip. Part of the ride involves sitting in a charlift for about 20 minutes - I heard stories from past travelers who were afraid of heights and did not know this! You don't have to an athete to climb but it is demanding - be prepared to sweat it, it's not an easy one.

Bobby was very welcoming and full of insights and recommendations of things to do in Bulgaria. The transfer was perfect for time and would recommend the hike!!

Magnificent experience that must be done with the right trekking equipment to enjoy everything to the fullest
