The trip to Plovdiv took about 2 hours. We drove to there from 9:00 and arrived around 11:00. Then 15:00 we had to be back at the van. Plovdiv itself isn't very exciting. There are a couple of nice sights, but honestly not too many. You can certainly see most of the city in about an afternoon. Our guide was very pleasant! (I believe it was Dmitry, although I could be mistaken) He was very enthusiastic, had a lot of nice stories to tell and really entertained us during the trip and for 1.5 hours in Plovdiv. Although it was quite alright, I'm not fully certain if I would recommend this for students. The price of €35 isn't too steep, but you can do more fun things with that money if you're on a budget. The trip was alright overall, but nothing too special because Plovdiv honestly isn't too special.

Our driver and guide were really good. The drive took just over 2 hours on the way there, but slightly less on the way back. The guide was really informative and I learnt a lot. Plovdiv is really pretty and has a lot of history, it is definitely worth visiting. There were 11 of us in total, split between two buses. There were 5 in my bus and we were all solo so it was a really nice experience. Good value for money and I found that we had enough time to explore.

This was a really great day out. Plovdiv is a really pretty city, the old part more charming than the new, and our guide, Alex, had a fantastic historical knowledge which he conveyed with enthusiasm and confidence. The brief bout of rain we encountered did not ruin the trip.
