Walking out on the glacier was fascinating. We learned so much about the life cycle of glaciers, and got to see how dynamic the environment is on and in the ice. Our guide had a trusty 4 x 4 she was able to drive further in than some of the tour buses, which meant more time out walking, and seemed to know many of the other guides out on the ice. She was friendly and knowledgeable, and made us feel safe. Overall it is not strenuous and is a nice peek at an amazing natural wonder that covers a significant percentage of Iceland!

We had a great time in our first glacier hike! The guide was super friendly and explained how to put on the gear very well (harness and crampons). She provided a lot of information about glaciers which made the hike even more fun interesting! We had perfect summer weather which probably helped making the experience super pleasant :)

This tour was amazing. Got to explore the glacier at our own pace and learn a lot. We saw many of the other tours with large amounts of people and the did not look pleasant at all, it really pays off to have a small group (we were 6 people in total). Hiking, drinking glacier water (delicious!), enjoying the views... just wonderful all around. Workout-wise there is just one tough part that is the initial climb, but once those 5-10 min are done it's very relaxed; most people in reasonable shape should be able to do it. We didn't want it to end. Highly recommend!!!
