Marvel at Pena Palace, one of the most magnificent and recognisable tourist attractions of Portugal. The palace exemplifies the 19th century Romanticism style of architecture and stands atop a rocky peak, which is the second highest point in Sintra Hills.

Visiting the castle and park in Sintra was magical! The atmosphere truly felt like stepping back in time — it was fascinating to imagine the lives of those who once lived there. The entire area is beautifully maintained, with clean paths, well-kept greenery, and stunning views. One of the best moments was climbing further up past the main castle to a rocky viewpoint — peaceful, scenic, and definitely worth it. Although there were quite a lot of people and we had to wait in some places, the walking route is very clear and helps guide you smoothly through the visit. A major plus is the online guide via QR codes, which offers audio and written info about each spot. It’s super helpful for international visitors and makes the whole experience even more interesting. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the Lisbon area — it’s a perfect mix of history, nature, and views!
very attentive and knew the area to maximize time. friendly and knowledgeable.
