we missed the ferry and were 10 min late to our pickup point, but were still graciously taken to Sintra where Carla showed us all the magic palaces. we had great weather and our visits were perfectly timed that the palaces weren't too busy. Carla is very knowledgeable and we had a great day.

Carla is such a nice Lady. She had a lot of information and a nice way of explaining things. The weather was awful on the day of our tour so when she noticed we where really cold she kept information a Little shorter. It was a wonderful day!

Full description

Then, head to the palatial villa of Monserrate Palace, a unique example of Romantic architecture, with Indian, Moorish, and Gothic inspiration, hailed for centuries by poets like Lord Byron. Enjoy free time for lunch in the picturesque town and savor the local cuisine and pastries.

Afterward, visit the Palace of Pena, at the top of the mountain, the old royal summer residence and a fine example of Portuguese Romanticism. After spending the day delving into Portuguese history and culture, return to Lisbon.

Carla made our day. She was very informative and was able to provide thorough information on the various sites, in ways that were digestible for our group that ranged from child to senior. Although it rained a lot, Carla made it very comfortable for us and we are very grateful to have had her as our guide for the day. The van was impeccably clean, we learned a ton and enjoyed ourselves on this tour. 100% recommend doing this!!
