Full description
Singapore is known as a melting pot of cultures for many reasons. It is architecturally stunning, multi-culturally vibrant, and rooted in 700 years of history. Follow your guide on a relaxed, small-group walk through the Civic District, Marina Bay, and Chinatown. Meet your group in the morning near Telok Ayer MRT Station and begin your walk at the oldest Hokkien Chinese temple in Singapore. Exquisitely restored to its former glory, it has welcomed waves of Chinese immigrants since 1842 and continues to attract local devotees. Your guide will shed light on the key religions of Singapore and the traditions of the Chinese community. A short walk away takes you to the top sights of Civic District and Marina Bay, where you will visit the Merlion Park and admire the iconic skyline of Singapore, including the award-winning Marina Bay Sands. Hear about Singapore's miracle story and its urban development and social policies, which were instrumental in shaping the nation as a City in a Garden. Follow the Singapore River as it leads to the heart of Civic District. Here, you'll visit the Old Parliament House (now known as Arts House) and see some colonial-era architecture before being rewarded with a stunning rooftop view at the end of the walk. The tour will end near City Hall MRT.
