What to Expect
Follow in the footsteps of the founder of Singapore, Sir Stamford Raffles, on this tour of some of the city's most historic spots.

The tour starts from where it all began – Raffles Landing Site, where Sir Stamford Raffles is believed to have first stepped ashore in 1819. Then head to an exhibition that traces the history of the Singapore River.

Step back in time to learn about Singapore’s founder and his vision for the island to become a vital trading center for the Far East. Discover the city’s colonial history as you walk past bronze sculptures erected along the river. From Kucinta Cats to River Merchants, the various sculptures each depict a scene of a bygone era.

Next, stop at Singapore's famous Raffles Hotel, a high-society hotspot of the 1800s. Enjoy either a delicious afternoon tea with English and Singaporean delicacies or a traditional cake tea set at this luxury establishment.

Then climb aboard the Bumboat, a traditional Singaporean tourist boat, and cruise along the Singapore River. Disembark at Clarke Quay, a lively riverside festival village.
