The Arade River has forever been of great importance in connecting Silves (the Islamic capital of the Algarve between the 8th and 13th centuries) to the sea. For centuries, the Arade was the scenery of important merchant trades, and was sailed by many cultures including the Phoenicians, Romans, Vikings, and Moors, among others. Boat was great. The guide, Ricardo, was very nice. Trip was pleasant with a great view. The boat didn't go very fast so it was great for people with lower back problems. It's not your typical tourist trap, it's actually very relaxing and comfortable. It's a well-spent afternoon, but not for the impatient.

What a day, I highly recommend it amazing Views and good banter from our guide Ricardo. Did I say good I meant great ...can’t say how much me and the missus enjoyed it. Hope I get to do it again. He even let my missus piss in the water covered by a towel lol Funny moment we all enjoyed it. Ask Ricardo about Jade he won’t forget it lol
