Full description
Drysuit snorkeling in Silfra rift, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Thingvellir National Park, is definitely an out-of-this-world adventure and a hidden natural wonder with 100 meters of underwater visibility and bright colors make the experience almost unrealistic. The pristine water in Silfra is one of the purest and clearest waters you’ll find on the planet. When snorkeling in Silfra, you are traveling between two continents, ending the tour in a lagoon often called "the real blue lagoon" because of the bright blue color of its water. Snorkeling in Silfra rift, where you are guided into this magnificent scenery, is a total must-see for all nature and adventure thirsty individuals and groups. You will view Silfra from the surface while the slow current carries you through the stunning underwater landscape. You will stay dry underneath your drysuit or, for the more adventurous, choose the wetsuit to feel the natural cool waters.

This experience was absolutely breathtaking... not only because the water is freezing cold in the wetsuit initially but because of how clear the water is and the earth below you. This was one of the coolest things we did in Iceland. Do not miss this! Also, if you have Maria as a guide make sure to yell at her to take off your trousers (wetsuit) when you're all done!

This was a very unique experience for me to experience not only snorkelling in some of the clearest waters in the world, but also experiencing swimming in 2 degree cold water. It was physically challenging for the first 5 minutes, but after getting used to it, I got to enjoy the amazing views. Our guides at Viking Adventures were knowledgeable, friendly, and had a great sense of humour which helped ensure that we had a memorable experience!

Fantastic experience! Will never forget how cool it is. Be prepared though, it is very cold. They give you a choice of wetsuit or dry suit. The wetsuit is much colder but you can dive down, whereas the dry suit is warmer but you can only float on the surface. We chose wetsuits and we were fine. Our lips were cold but they got numb pretty quick. Others in our group were too cold to do the whole trip though. Luis was the best guide and we had a wonderful time. Truly unforgettable!
