First, get an induction brief from your Instructor before you take off from a mountain slope under a canopy that resembles a parachute.  Get ready for liftoff; take a few steps or a short run to take off from the gentle slope, the wind will catch the canopy, and you will be airborne. Cape Town's natural beauty is world-renowned, however, few have experienced its sights and sounds from the fresh blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Unmatched with its combination of scenery and wildlife, it's just magic. Leaving the venue at the calm waters of the V&A Waterfront, you will paddle into the fresh movement of the ocean where we will encounter the active local marine life and possibly catch a glimpse of some local dolphins, whales, seals, penguins, and sunfish. You will also witness unique views of Lion's Head, Signal Hill, the Twelve Apostles mountain range, and a local shipwreck. The tour will then finish with a breathtakingly photogenic view of Cape Town's treasure, Table Mountain. This location is one of the most picturesque places on earth. No previous experience is needed. The boats are extremely stable and the guides come from a competitive kayaking background with extensive ocean knowledge. They monitor the ocean conditions carefully so you will be perfectly safe. The venue is located in the V&A Waterfront parking garage, next to the Oranjezicht Farm Market & the Lookout Function Venue. Start your day of exploring Cape Town with an early pickup directly from your accommodation and set out to see the city's most iconic attraction, Table Mountain. Purchase your tickets and hop into one of the cable cars to make your way to the top of the mountain. Spend some time soaking in the breathtaking views of the City of Cape Town, Signal Hill, and Lion's Head. Then, join your guide as you walk to another lookout point and be rewarded with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, Camps Bay, and the Twelve Apostles Mountains. Ride the cable car back down the mountain and head to the V&A Waterfront where you'll board a ferry to Robben Island. Disembark at Murray's Bay Harbor on the east coast of the island and board a bus that will take you to all the historic sites. Get a guided tour of the prison while learning about South Africa's history, the struggle against oppression, and the thousands of freedom fighters who were imprisoned on Robben Island, including former president Nelson Mandela. Return by ferry to the V&A Waterfront and enjoy some free time to do some shopping or grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants (cost not included). nd Finally, hop back into your air-conditioned vehicle and enjoy a comfortable ride back to your accommodation.

When you arrive at the meeting point you will be welcomed by our awesome team. Ask for Mike or any of the Tandem Flight Co staff in blue t-shirts. You will then be assigned to one of our experienced pilots who will brief you about the flying and help with the necessary paperwork. We then get you ready for your tandem paragliding experience. Your pilot will talk you through the takeoff procedure. Sometimes you will need to run a bit before flying, but this is easy and your well-trained and experienced assistants and pilot will ensure a smooth takeoff. After the initial adrenaline of the takeoff, you can settle comfortably into the harness and enjoy the ride. It really is like flying like a bird: come see for yourself. Your crew is world-class, using state of the art equipment and flying a place they know very well. This is the safest form of paragliding you can get. Herman Venter will be your host at Table Mountain Tandem Paragliding and with 27 years paragliding experience you are in safe hands (100% safety record). We offer professional Tandem Paragliding Air Experience flights over the beautiful city of Cape Town. All our Instructors are SAHPA (South African Hang-gliding and Paragliding Association) members and licensed by SACAA (Civil Aviation Authority). We fly from Signal Hill or Lions Head where after we land next to the ocean in Sea Point. Once you arrive at the launch site we will do all relevant paperwork, a pre flight briefing before commencing the beautiful tandem introductory flight. The duration of the Air Experience is normally around 1 hour in total from arrival to completion. The minimum age for the tandem flight is 14 years old and the maximum weight limit is 110kg. PLease provide a WHATSAPP NUMBER if possible for information and weather updates. Come and fly like a bird with us and depending on the wind direction we will Tandem Paraglide either from Signal Hill or Lions Head in Cape Town. You don’t need any experience to do a tandem paragliding Air Experience introductory flight and our ground crew will assist you during the takeoff process. After the flight you can either drive back up the mountain with us or make your own way from the landing area in Sea Point. The HD Photos and Video is an optional extra at R400 per person. We copy the photos and videos onto your mobile phone after the flight so please have around 3GB free space available.

A local food-lover, Faldela Tolker, will be waiting to greet you on the doorstep of her neat, lilac-colored house. She’ll welcome you into her kitchen where a large metal pot simmers on the stove, emitting a spicy aroma. Chef Faldela conducts cooking classes in her home in Bo-Kaap, Cape Town. The food cooked in this predominantly Muslin neighborhood is as piquant as the hot pink and burnt-orange painted houses that rise gently up the lower slopes of Signal Hill, part of Table Mountain. Unique to the Western Cape of South Africa, Cape Malay cuisine fuses African tradition with that of Malaysian and Indonesian slaves, brought over by the Dutch in the 17th and 18th centuries. A blend of spices — ginger, fennel, star anise, tamarind, and, most importantly, turmeric — gives the food a distinct aromatic quality. Stews, roasts, and sauce-heavy curries are popular in Malay cuisine, as are meat patties, milk, and bread puddings.

Make your way to the V&A Waterfront Helipad to check in about 15 to 20 minutes before your scheduled shared helicopter flight over the city and coast. Receive a safety briefing on arrival, and then proceed to the beautiful flight deck to see the operation up close and personal while you wait to board your flight. Climb aboard a helicopter and start your adventure with a complete circle around Table Mountain. Continue over the city to see Cape Town Stadium, one of the venues of the 2010 World Cup. Then, travel down the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, passing Signal Hill, Camps Bay and Clifton Beach along the way. Get bird's eye views of the luxury homes, and marvel at the mountains of the Twelve Apostles. Listen to informative commentary from your pilot as you discover some of Cape Town's most iconic landmarks from the air.

Our Tandem Paragliding instructional flights start at either Signal Hill or Lions Head, all depends on the wind direction on the day. We will be sure to let you know where it will take place. After the usual paperwork is completed, we will run through a preflight briefing, going through the basic parts of the paraglider, take off sequence and launching instructions. Once airborne the highly experienced tandem instructor pilot will chat to you about how and where we are able to stay in the air without a motor, and how we can even gain altitude. All this while taking photos and videos of the 360-degree views. There is a short glide out over Sea Point towards the landing on the Sea Point Prominade. If we get to launch off Lions Head, we glide out over Camps Bay to the landing at The Glen Club. Your photos and videos, which are on optional extra for R 300, are then copied directly onto your mobile phone in the landing field. Lastly is the short Post flight briefing and of course the answering of any questions. We will also arrange to take you back up to take off if your vehicle has been left there.
