The trip was amazing, it ended up being a private trip as no other people bought the tour for that day. Ishan was great company for the day and is a safe and cautious driver. There were optional extra excursions I could have done, but the weather has completely beaten me on the day and after walking up Sigiriya at midday, I was done for the day. Ishan was very flexible with the itinerary and waited for me once the tour was done. Ishan also speaks excellent English which helped me find out a bit more about the culture of Sri Lanka and about what people's lives look like. I would highly recommend buying this tour if your schedule is tight and you can only spare one day for Sigiriya, Dambulla and Minneriya.

Full description

Depart Colombo and travel by a shared vehicle, in a small group, to the city of Sigiriya, and head directly to Sigiriya Rock on arrival. Gaze in awe at the massive column of rock that, according to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle The Culavamsa, was selected by King Kassyapa as the site of his new capital. Admire numerous paintings of historic queens, princesses, and maids inside the rock fortress before getting a break for lunch at your own expense. Then, explore some of the traditional crafts of the region, such as wood carving and batik textiles, with time to purchase souvenirs before departing. Start the journey back towards Colombo via Dambulla to explore the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Discover the magnificent Buddha images and rock paintings of vivid colors and different shapes, painted from around the 2nd century B.C. up to the 18th-century Kandyan era. Optionally Can be done the Wild Life Safari at Eco Park or Kaudulla National Park or Minneriya National park charges for National Park very on Pax Count ( For solo Passengers $ 100 & $ 60 )

Know before you go

  • Comfortable walking shoes are recommended
  • All visitors to Buddhist and Hindu temples are expected to remove their shoes and hats. Shoulders and knees should also be covered
  • A moderate amount of walking is involved. Guests must climb 1250 stairs at Sigiriya Lion
  • The duration of the transfers is approximate and will depend on the time of day and traffic conditions
  • A current valid passport is required on the day of travel
  • The tour is subject to favorable weather conditions. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date
  • Breakfast stop is available between 08.30 AM to 09.00 AM
  • When you entering to Hindu temple or Buddha temple, shoes and slippers must removed
  • Pick up is available in Colombo city limits only - if the designated pick-up location is located outside the city limits pick up can be made with additional charge or need to come to nearest pick up location on own
