Leaving from the city of Granada at 09:00 or meeting point in Hoya de la Mora, Sierra Nevada at 10:00 where we start the trekking tour, in winter we will use snowshoes and poles to enjoy the snow and ice and in summer only walking sticks, enjoying the views of the fertile plain of Granada, the summit of Mulhacen and the Veleta and on clear days views of the Mediterranean Sea, upon reaching the summit of the Veleta at 3,396 meters above sea level, we will enjoy a well-deserved rest with a picnic lunch and prepare for the descent. The round trip trek has an approximate time of 7 hours back to Hoya de la Mora, and back to Granada at 6:00 p.m. This adventure is adaptable according to the sportive level of each participant.

On this guided hike, discover the alpine beauty just a short drive away from Granada. Join a local guide as you explore the mountains around the town of Monachil, known as Los Cahorros. Embark on a hike along the Monachil River and take in the sights of the Sierra Nevada beyond. Begin your tour in Granada, where you'll meet your guide and go on a short drive to reach the town of Monachil. Just beyond the town hall, park and set out on your hike. Walk along the Monachil River until you reach the limestone gorge. Continue along the path and cross several hanging bridges over the gorge. Look down the gorge to catch glimpses of the challenging climbing areas frequented by the "Cahorros school." Venture further upriver as you climb steps and use anchored iron bars for a handrail. Next, enter the Palomas tunnel, created by large stone blocks embedded in the narrow part of the gorge. As you reach the other side, enjoy the fresh scent of pine forest that surrounds you. Then, admire the breathtaking views of the peaks of Cerro Huenes, "Los Pollos," and "Cerrajón." Follow your guide along a suspension bridge to begin your return journey. Before you reach Monachil, pause along the riverbank for panoramic views of Los Cahorros and a summertime swim. Once you've arrived in town again, enjoy a relaxing ride back to Granada to complete your tour.

This was a nice journey to the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It was precarious in parts because the vehicle is large and some of the unpaved roads were thin and on the edge of mountainside, but that was part of the adventure. Guide was amazing! Patient and easy to speak with and understand.
